Welcome to my portfolio!

 

I hold a B.S. in Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University where I became engaged in student media. I wrote extensively for the university paper Sidelines, the radio station WMOT-FM, and worked on a long-format TV broadcast. For over two years, I worked as a visual editor for the university's creative magazine Collage, a biannual publication.

In the summer of 2019, I interned at The Daily Times in Maryville, TN and had two stories published in print. In the summer of 2020, I interned at the Linebaugh Public Library where I wrote and recorded four radio pieces and helped organize for the children's summer program as the library's media intern.

​

I have experience in using the Adobe Cloud Suite for video and audio editing; DSLR cameras and Tascam recording equipment; Excel data analysis programs.  

 

My journalism background has provided me great experiences that have taught me how to work well independently and on tight deadlines. I am comfortable with projects that require meticulous researching and fact-checking and take pride in writing a wide range of stories--from the major political updates to feature stories about everyday people.

 

Elective-wise, I have an educational interest in studying law and the legal system, First Amendment rights, and mass media law. I am comfortable with The Bluebook legal citation system as well as legal writing and research--such as with mediation agreements, memorandums, and case briefs.
