Artists and Their Practices

Final Project
By Zoe Haggard & Kate Carter
MTSU's art programs are growing as talented students work and practice to create unique pieces for their individual fields.

Maggie Strahle is a graphic design major at MTSU. For her, practicing comes as a way to perfect even the most minute details in her artwork, and her field of study expects no less. Strahle aims to grow her portrait business, Audacious Daughter, which she began earlier this year. But for success, "You have to put the time in it if you want to be good." However, for Kelsey Keith, an English major at MTSU, practice comes as more of an opportunity. As an aspiring singer-songwriter, practice requires dedication and the ability to continue creating beyond what you have already done. Yet despite the differences in their crafts, each artist still practices, practices, and practices. Practice make permanence.
