Before I began taking Digital Media Skills at MTSU, I had never worked with a DSLR camera. I couldn't name the five essential shots of photography, couldn't tell you what aperture was, couldn't draw a sketch of the rule of thirds. I didn't even know what a SD did, either. However, just in the short time I have taken this class, I have learned more about digital media now than I ever thought I would in my life. If you were to ask me what I wanted to do with my life just a year ago, I would have replied, with quirky half-smile, "Historical preservation." Now, as a journalism and strategic media major, I stand not among the ruins of history, but rather at the frontlines of it. And I wouldn't change it for the world.
